simply amazing, always for you.
A family from Washington, Tyne and Wear, has paid a heartfelt tribute to their “talented” and “vibrant” daughter, Poppy Eagle, who tragically passed away at the age of just 20.
Poppy, a promising fashion student, died suddenly on August 7, 2024, after her heart unexpectedly stopped. Despite having no known medical conditions, her sudden death has left her family devastated.
Her parents, Vicki and Peter, alongside her four siblings, have bravely chosen to honor Poppy’s memory by establishing the Poppy’s Light Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of cardiac screening for young people. The family hopes to prevent similar tragedies by promoting early detection of heart conditions in children and young adults.
In a courageous effort to support the cause, Poppy’s mother, Vicki, completed a skydive on September 29, 2024, raising both funds and awareness for the foundation. The foundation is also fundraising through a GoFundMe campaign to further the mission of providing vital cardiac screening to young people.
Vicki expressed the family’s mission with an emotional plea: “No parent should have to go through what we’ve experienced. We want to help ensure that other families don’t have to endure this heartbreak.”
The Poppy’s Light Foundation aims to make a lasting impact on heart health awareness for young people, and the family is committed to ensuring Poppy’s legacy helps save lives.
