Spectrum TV App Down as Thousands Hit by RLP-1035 Error Across the US

Thousands of Spectrum customers across the United States were left unable to stream television on Monday after a widespread outage affected the Spectrum TV app, triggering the error code RLP-1035 for many users.

The disruption sparked a wave of complaints online as customers turned to social media and outage-tracking platforms to report that the app had suddenly stopped working. Many said they were unable to watch live TV, while others experienced problems logging into their accounts or accessing Spectrum’s website.

The outage appeared to affect customers in multiple states, including California, Florida, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Missouri, pointing to a broader network issue rather than isolated local disruptions.

What Is the RLP-1035 Error?

According to Spectrum’s support documentation, the RLP-1035 error generally means that the requested program is temporarily unavailable. The error typically appears when the Spectrum TV app cannot properly communicate with the company’s streaming servers.

During Monday’s outage, however, the error was reported by thousands of customers simultaneously, suggesting that the issue originated within Spectrum’s systems rather than users’ devices or home internet connections.

Customers Report Streaming Problems

As the outage unfolded, frustrated subscribers shared screenshots of the error message and described a variety of issues.

Some customers said they could still use their Spectrum internet service, but the TV app refused to load. Others reported that the My Spectrum app and Spectrum’s website were also inaccessible, making it difficult to check account information or troubleshoot the problem.

The surge in complaints caused outage-monitoring websites to record a sharp spike in reports within a short period, highlighting the scale of the disruption.

Spectrum Confirms Service Issue

Spectrum acknowledged the outage through its customer support channels, confirming that technical teams were investigating the problem.

The company apologized for the inconvenience and assured customers that engineers were working to restore services as quickly as possible. While Spectrum confirmed it was aware of the issue, it did not immediately disclose what caused the outage.

Service Gradually Returns

Later in the evening, reports of outages began to decline, indicating that service had been restored for many customers.

Although most users were able to resume streaming, some continued to experience intermittent issues as systems stabilized.

Customers who still encounter the RLP-1035 error are advised to restart the Spectrum TV app, reboot their streaming device, verify their internet connection and try again after a few minutes. If the problem persists, Spectrum recommends contacting customer support.

No Cause Announced Yet

At the time of publication, Spectrum has not released an official explanation for what triggered the nationwide disruption.

Large-scale outages involving streaming platforms can occur for several reasons, including server failures, software updates, network interr

uptions or unexpected technical faults. Until the company completes its investigation, the exact cause remains unknown.

For now, the outage serves as another reminder of how heavily millions of households rely on internet-based television services and how quickly technical issues can disrupt access to live programming.
