simply amazing, always for you.

The Water Resources Authority has announced a massive recruitment drive featuring 120 job opportunities for qualified Kenyans, in what could become one of the biggest public sector hiring exercises this year.

The vacancies cut across technical, administrative, scientific, and support departments as the authority seeks to strengthen water resource management and environmental protection systems across the country.

According to the authority, the recruitment targets professionals in water engineering, hydrology, ICT, legal affairs, finance, environmental management, and field operations. The move comes at a time when Kenya continues to face growing pressure on water resources due to climate change, population growth, and increasing demand for clean water.

Wide Range of Positions Available

Among the positions advertised are:

  • Water Resources Officers
  • Hydrologists
  • Engineers
  • Geologists
  • Chemists
  • ICT Officers
  • Legal Officers
  • Planning Officers
  • Revenue Officers
  • Community Engagement Officers
  • Drivers
  • Office Assistants

The authority is also seeking enforcement and pollution control officers to help monitor illegal water usage, pollution, and compliance with national water laws.

Applicants selected for the jobs will reportedly serve a six-month probation period before confirmation to permanent and pensionable terms based on performance evaluations.

Huge Opportunity for Young Professionals

The announcement has generated excitement among graduates and job seekers across Kenya, especially young professionals struggling to secure stable employment in the public sector.

With unemployment remaining a major concern among Kenyan youth, many are expected to apply for the positions due to the stability, benefits, and long-term career growth associated with government agencies.

Industry observers say the recruitment could also help improve water governance in counties that continue to experience shortages, drought conditions, and poor water infrastructure.

Application Deadline Announced

The authority has urged interested applicants to submit their applications before the June 1, 2026 deadline through official recruitment channels.

Candidates were warned against canvassing, with the authority stating that any attempt to influence the recruitment process would lead to automatic disqualification.

The organization also encouraged persons living with disabilities and candidates from marginalized areas to apply as part of its equal opportunity employment policy.

Growing Demand for Water Experts in Kenya

Experts say the latest recruitment reflects the growing importance of water management in Kenya’s economic and environmental planning.

As urban populations expand and climate patterns become more unpredictable, demand for skilled professionals in hydrology, environmental conservation, water engineering, and resource management continues to rise.

The new recruitment drive is therefore expected to strengthen the country’s ability to manage rivers, dams, underground water sources, and catchment areas more effectively.

Job seekers are now racing against time to submit their applications before the deadline closes.
