Kiraitu Says Ruto Is Unbeatable as Kindiki Rallies Support for 2027
Veteran politician Kiraitu Murungi has expressed confidence that President William Ruto will secure a second term in office, dismissing opposition claims that the Head of State could become a one-term president.
Speaking during a political gathering, Kiraitu argued that Ruto has built a reputation as a resilient politician who has consistently emerged victorious in every major election he has contested. He challenged opposition leaders to prepare for a difficult contest in the 2027 General Election instead of banking on predictions of Ruto’s defeat.
According to Kiraitu, Ruto’s political track record demonstrates his ability to overcome significant challenges, making him a formidable candidate as the country heads toward the next election.
At the same time, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki called on leaders allied to the Kenya Kwanza administration to remain fully focused on ensuring President Ruto wins re-election next year.
Kindiki cautioned politicians against shifting attention to the 2032 succession debate, saying such discussions are premature and could undermine efforts to consolidate the government’s achievements ahead of the 2027 polls.
He emphasized that the immediate priority for government supporters should be delivering on campaign promises and building public confidence through development projects rather than engaging in succession politics.
The Deputy President said the Kenya Kwanza leadership must remain united and disciplined, insisting that discussions about future leadership beyond Ruto’s potential second term should only come after the 2027 election.
The remarks come as political activity continues to intensify across the country, with both the ruling coalition and opposition stepping up grassroots mobilization ahead of the next General Election.
While opposition leaders have maintained that they are capable of unseating President Ruto, Kenya Kwanza leaders insist the administration remains confident of securing another five-year mandate based on its development agenda and economic reforms.
